Context

Walker dolls from the 1950s are iconic hard plastic or vinyl dolls, such as the Ideal Saucy Walker and American Character Sweet Sue, designed to "walk" when led by the hand. They featured complex internal mechanisms that moved the legs and often turned the head side-to-side simultaneously. These popular toys typically had sleep eyes, rooted hair or wigs, and detailed clothing.
