Plate 72 from from Shakers & Kirtland by Louis Baus supposedly showing South Park Boulevard at the mill dam of Upper Lake (Horseshoe Lake). Image has a halftone pattern when zoomed in, indicating photo is reproduction of a newspaper image. Photo was used in June 16, 1904 Cleveland Leader article "Around the Lakes of Shaker Heights" and captioned "Road connecting North and South Boulevards between the lakes." Road pictured is more likely South Park crossing Doan Brook near the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes. Baus description: "Going farther west we continue to the boulevard at the foot of the upper pond. Though a fine thoroughfare now, the cattle and harvest fields are now only a vision of the past."Photograph Details
