In this 1969 black-and-white photo, young boys play football on the Fort Lewis Small Fry team at Cowan Field on JBLM. Jim Lyons, playing on the Small Fry Rams, recovers a McChord fumble in this photo. Teammate Jeff James is coming to throw a block for Lyons. For many years, Cowan Field was managed by Otis Sistrunk, the former NFL defensive lineman who played for the Oakland Raiders during the 1970s.
