Handball is played on five continents, in 180 countries and by 19 million people. The sport was first introduced to the Olympics in 1939 and has been a part of the Summer Olympics since 1972. It is played throughout the Puget Sound with the Puget Sound Handball League beginning in 1927 at the Seattle YMCA.
