Local sports giant Tom Cross (back left), who was the driving force behind the Metropolitan Park District of Tacoma and the Pierce County Parks and Recreation Department from the late 1940s to the early 1980s, found time to coach the 1968 Pierce County Continental League basketball champions. They are, back row left to right, Tom Cross, Jack Johnson, Ed Bowman, Marty Erdahl and Gene Lundgaard. Front l-r, are Dick Webster, Ron Storaasli, Bob Maguinez and Babe Buholm.
