Pictured are players from the Cheney Studs Basketball team in the 1960s: back row, Dick Webster, Dan Roffler, Marty Erdahl, Ed Bowman, Jim Gallways and Tom Cross. Front row - Nello Morganti, Jack Johnson, Erling Ragnar "Babe" Buholm, Gene Lundgaard and Al Maul. Many of the Studs players went on to become some of the most prominent coaches and referees in the history of the state of Washington. Ben Cheney created the Studs AAU basketball team to give college players a chance to showcase their skills during their off-seasons.
