Phil’s Place baseball team members pose for a team photo. Many of the players went on to be inducted into the Tacoma-Pierce County Baseball-Softball Association Hall of Fame. Phil’s team was part of the golden era of baseball in Pierce County in the 1940s and 1950s and included standout players in high school, college, semi-pro and former professional players in the Tacoma City League, the Valley League and more.
