Description

Members of the 1956 Spanaway Baseball Club takes a team photo at Cheney Field. Throughout the 1950s, the Spanaway Baseball Club was a contender for the title in the Tacoma City League. They were loaded with talent. Over the years, Jim Rediske was a solid shortstop for this Spanaway team, robbing batters of singles with his vacuum glove and his strong throwing arm. Ray Brammer coached the Spanaway teams from 1956 to 1959.
