Description

Nineteen players and coaches from the 1923 Stadium High School inter-scholastic champions pose for a picture. Among the players on that team were Herman Brix, who went on to star in football and track and field at the University of Washington, playing in the 1926 Rose Bowl and winning a silver medal in the shot put in the 1928 Olympics. Brix starred in the 1935 motion picture "The New Adventures of Tarzan." He changed his name to Bruce Bennett and had a major role in John Huston's film "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre," which won three Academy Awards in 1948. He was credited with 151 acting roles.
