Architecturally speaking, the Lakewood Ice Arena on Lake Steilacoom was a tremendous building on the outside but had its quirks on the inside. It wasn’t regulation size to permit any national-level competition and the ice was soft in places. But the venue was home to countless skaters who went on to great national and international success.
