Lakewood Figure Skating Club’s Joby Moore and Skip Butterfield perform a number during the 1951 Ice Capers show at the Lakewood Ice Arena. The arena was home to many top level skaters when it opened in the 1930s. By 1955 the show had eight performances and 175 skaters. The rink hosted numerous shows and was the entertainment hub for Tacoma residents until 1982 when part of the building collapsed and the rest was demolished.
