Description

Lois Secreto and Jimmy Grogan began skating together as children at Lakewood Ice Arena. The pair won the 1945 to win the Pacific Coast Junior Pairs Competition. Secreto, who also won the Northwest Juvenile Girls title in 1942 and in 1946, Secreto won the Northwest Novice Ladies title followed by the Northwest Senior title in 1947 and a second Pacific Coast Senior Ladies title in 1950. That win qualified her for the national championships where she tied for first place in the freestyle skating event. After graduating from Stadium High School, Secreto joined the Shipstads and Johnson Ice Follies. Grogan won earned numerous junior and senior trophies before he went on to become a two-time Olympian, a four-time world silver medalist and U.S. champion. He also went on to star in the Hollywood Ice Revue and the Ice Capades and inducted into the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame. Photograph by Fort Lewis Sentinel.
