Description

Patty Hoyt, second from left, is in the Ice Folliettes chorus line for the closing New Years Eve number in 1950 of the Ice Follies show. The Ice Follies were the precursor to the Ice Capades which featured elaborate production numbers and costumes and later include several Olympians and world champion skaters. By 1955 the show had eight performances and 175 skaters. The rink also became the entertainment hub for Tacoma area residents since its opening in 1938 and continued until 1982 when part of the building collapsed and the rest was demolished.
