Description

The Lakewood Ice Arena, shown in a photograph from the parking lot side in 1940, became the place to be for Tacoma residents when it opened in 1938. The rink continued to provide skating lessons, a popular hangout spot for teenagers, skating parties and more until part of the building collapsed in 1982 and the rest was demolished shortly thereafter.
