It was rare for the ice rink to not be in use at the Lakewood Ice Arena. The Tacoma rink at Lake Steilacoom was the place to be for Tacoma residents, an entertainment hub seven nights a week, since it opened in 1938. The rink continued to provide skating lessons, a popular hangout spot for teenagers, skating parties and more until part of the building collapsed in 1982 and the rest was demolished shortly thereafter.Made/Created
