Description

Holding four trophies and his bow, Harry “Sonny” Johns Jr. stands by a bulls eye target that he's nailed six arrows in dead center. Johns Jr. was a young and talented shooter with a bow and arrow. He won the National Archery Championship in San Francisco in 1938. The first national championship held under that name occurred in 1931. Events in the outdoor championships involved fixed targets at set distances.
