Description

With the skill of a marksman, a young Harry “Sonny” Johns Jr. poses for a picture with his bow and arrow. Johns Jr. of Tacoma broke two records in the Junior American event of the National Archery Association's annual championship in 1938, scoring a 698 in singles and 1,354 in doubles. He won the national tournament that year at nationals, which were held in San Francisco.
