Description

Tacoma’s Ryan Moore is a professional golfer on the PGA Tour. Moore, a Cascade Christian High School graduate competed in golf for Puyallup High School, where he lettered from 1998-2001. Moore won the state 1A high school championship in 2001. Moore was a very successful amateur golfer earning a runner-up finish in the U.S. Junior Amateur in 2000. Moore went on to play at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) for four seasons. While at UNLV in 2004, Moore won the U.S. Amateur, the Western Amateur, the U.S. Amateur Public Links, which he previously won in 2002, and an NCAA individual championship. Moore won the Ben Hogan Award in 2005 as the top college player and the Haskins Award as the outstanding collegiate golfer in the nation. Moore finished 13th at the 2005 Masters winning low amateur, still the lowest amateur score in Masters history. Moore turned professional and won five wins on the tour.
