The Cheney Studs were a summer league baseball team that featured many of the areas top players. Here, likely from 1959, we see players Bob Maguinez (seated closest with arm on rail) and Pat Gosney along with two coaches. Maguinez played several summers for the Studs. He became a long-time coach and scout, one of the most recognizable faces through the years of Tacoma amateur baseball. The Metro Parks baseball field at South 19th and Tyler St in Tacoma is Bob Maguinez Field.
