Wearing white shirts and ties, 13 players from the Tacoma Tigers pose for this black-and-white photo taken around 1914. Ten Million, a talented outfielder, is in the bottom row, second from the right. After graduating from high school in 1908 and then attending the University of Washington, Million signed a baseball contract with the Cleveland Naps in 1911. He played outfield for the Tacoma Tigers from 1912-14. Million never played in the major leagues. A knee injury brought an early end to his career. However, Million did have a baseball card made of him in 1911 holding a baseball bat and wearing a Victoria jersey. Besides Tacoma, Million also played for Seattle, Victoria and Spokane. His grandmother wanted her grandson's name to standout, so she suggested to Million's parents that he be named Ten. He worked as a claims adjuster for Seattle and he died in 1964.Lexicon
