Description

The 1947 Lincoln Furniture men's fastpitch softball team poses for a team photo. Included in this black-and-white photo of 11 players is Bob Ryan, who played quarterback at the College of Puget Sound from 1947-49 and later became a football coach there from 1965-72. Like Ryan, Chuck Horjes, who is also in this team photo, was an all-around athlete and played many sports. Horjes was inducted into the Tacoma-Pierce County Sports Hall of Fame for football in 1969. The players in the photo include: Bob Ryan, Ralph Johnson, Art McMahon, Lorne "Shorty" Campbell, Ray Mahnkey, Chuck Horjes, "Tippy" Lockhart. The photo was taken by Clarence Seman and donated by Cindy Horjes Lumsden.
