Description

College of Puget Sound (now University of Puget Sound) football coach John Heinrich, lower right, holds a football as he talks to six of his assistant coaches, two are believed to be Harry Bird and Ray Mahnkey. Heinrich had an 88-46-11 record as coach of the Loggers, winning or sharing five Evergreen Conference titles from 1948-64 Heinrich also coached basketball for the Loggers from 1945-59, posting a 187-159 record. Heinrich is a member of the Helms Coaches Hall of Fame, NAIA Hall of Fame and Tacoma-Pierce County Sports Hall of Fame.
