Description

The Tacoma Rifle & Revolver Club is the oldest shooting facility in the state of Washington. Shooting competitions for the public were held on the grounds even before the state was admitted to the Union. The club, in University Place, sits on 70-acres of land and the facilities include ranges for small-bore rifle, centerfire rifle, pistol, airgun, and archery. Fremont Campbell (far right) was a member of the Tacoma Amocats, an independent semi-pro baseball team formed in 1901. Amocats is Tacoma spelled backwards.
