With a referee in the background, Spanaway High School's Jeff Gotcher (on the right) works for a takedown against an opponent at the state wrestling tournament. Gotcher won the match and went on to win his third state title. Gotcher finished his impressive high school career with an undefeated record, winning all 101 of his matches. He won state championships at 148 pounds three times, winning the 3A state title in 1985 and the 4A title in 1986 and 1987. Jeff and his brother, Larry Gotcher, finished with a combined record of 193-2-1 record, winning 153 of their matches by pins. Larry and Jeff were both undefeated state champs in 1985.Lexicon
