With a crowd of fans watching, the 1924 Tacoma City League All-Stars poise for a team photo. The event was called Babe Ruth Day and it occurred in Tacoma's Stadium Bowl on Oct. 18, 1924. Babe Ruth, the legendary New York Yankee, is in the center of the photo with his arms crossed. Ruth played 22 seasons in the major leagues, from 1914 to 1935. Ruth broke many major league batting records, including career home runs with 714. In his 15 years with the Yankees, he helped them win four World Series championships. Ruth visited Tacoma and Seattle for exhibition games from 1921 to 1924.
