A young Jim Stevenson of Tacoma lets loose with a shot while bowling. Stevenson is considered to be one of the best things that ever happened to bowling in Pierce County. While attending Lincoln High School in the 1940s, he and some friends formed the “Whiz Kids” bowling team and beat most of the adults teams throughout the Northwest. Stevenson bowled on the Professional Bowlers Association and rolled nine perfect 300 games. He ranks among the best bowlers to come out of Pierce County. He is a member of the Tacoma and NIBC Halls of Fame.Lexicon
