Pete Lovely was an avid sports car racer. He won the first Laguna Seca in 1957 driving a Ferrari. In 1955, he won the Glendale Airport race in his famous Pooper. He placed second in the Golden Gate Park race in 1954. After graduating from Garfield High School in Seattle in 1943, he was drafted and served in the Army Air Corps as a mechanic and got out in 1948. He ran the Pete Lovely Volkswagen in Fife for 34 years, opening it in 1954.Lexicon
