Description

Thirteen players wearing their Little Giants baseball uniforms from the Tacoma Boys Club and holding their baseball gloves pose for a picture taken back in the 1950s. The Tacoma Boys Club started in 1940 and over the years has grown to 14 sites across three counties – Pierce, Mason and Kitsap. Boys Club of America began in 1860 in Hartford, Connecticut, when several women who thought boys who roamed the streets should have a positive alternative. In 1906, 50 clubs joined together to form a national organization called Boys Club of America.
