Ten players and two coaches from Tacoma Boys Club's baseball team called Richfield pose for this black-and-white photo taken in the 1950s. Nationwide, the Boys Club of America started in the 1860s. The first to use the “Boys Club” title was the Boys Club of New York in 1876. In 1956, Boys Club of America celebrated its 50th anniversary and President Eisenhower honored them by giving the organization a Congressional Charter. The Tacoma Boys Club started in 1940.Lexicon
