Over the years, because of the Tacoma Boys Club, team shots like this one of 23 young boys taken in the 1950s happened, and they were able to play baseball in the spring and pose for a team photo. The Tacoma Boys Club started in 1940 and has given youngsters opportunities to play football, basketball and baseball for over 80 years. Nationally, the first club to use “Boys Club” was in New York in 1876. A national club was formed in 1906 and 50 clubs joined and it became known as Boys Club of America.Lexicon
