Description

Ron Crowe was a star basketball player for the Puyallup Vikings, leading the team in scoring his senior season in 1955 with 17.3 points per game. Crowe was offered a scholarship at the University of Washington but found himself mostly sitting on the bench. He transferred to Western Washington his senior year and was one of five former Huskies to play for WWU. Crowe averaged 20.3 ppg, set school and Evergreen Conference scoring records and led the Vikings to the NAIA tournament for the first time. He received All-America honorable mention. Crowe went on to serve three terns as Puyallup Mayr and 12 years as a city councilman. He was inducted into the Tacoma/Pierce County Hall of Fame in 2007.
