Description

Dan Picha, pictured taking a jump shot, was a member of the Puyallup Vikings basketball team that went 23-1 and won the 3A state basketball championship under head coach Rich Hammermaster, Picha also played football and earned a scholarship to play at Colorado State University. Picha returned to his alma mater where he taught and coached girls basketball, including his twin daughters Regan and Lauren. Dan, along with his brother Russ, own Picha Farms. Dan Picha was inducted into the Tacoma-Pierce County Sports Hall of Fame in 2009. Photo donated by Rich Hammermaster.
