Description

From the mid-1960s to the early 1970s, the Puyallup Vikings boys basketball team won six straight Puget Sound League titles and compiled a 76-4 record in that span. The Vikings, led by head coach Rich Hammermaster, won the 3A state championship earning Hammermaster the Washington State Coach of the Year honor. The ’71 Viking team finished 23-1. Pictured is the 1971-72 team that went 20-2 (16-0 league) and won the Puget Sound League Southern Division champions.
