Description

Coach Homer Post, top left, stands with his 1930 Lincoln High School basketball team on the steps of the school. The team did not qualify for play in the state tournament that year, an honor that went to Stadium, but Post was quite a bit more than just a basketball coach. He was also an influential educator in the school and was perhaps most gifted in journalism, helping students create the Lincoln Post student newspaper, which he oversaw for 20 years and what was largely considered one of the nation’s best student publications. The Post won dozens of national awards and Post sent many a student on to a career in professional journalism. Pictured in this photo is: L-R. Coach Homer Post, R. Wasmond, C. Jacobs, J. Geehan, K. Johnson. Front Row: L-R. J. Brooks, D. Beardemphl, V. Clarke, R. Wiecking, V. Campbell.
