Tacoma’s George Wise (third from left) and Jerry Geehan (far right) made their mark on Pierce County sports in the 1930s and beyond. Wise was involved in baseball and softball as a player and coach for many years. He was also a talented golfer who won the 1930 Steilacoom Lake Club Championship. Geehan was the first radio play-by-play voice of Western International League’s Tacoma Tigers baseball team in 1937. Geehan started at his broadcast career at Tacoma-based KVI.Lexicon
