Description

Tacoma’s George Wise (third from left) and Jerry Geehan (far right) made their mark on Pierce County sports in the 1930s and beyond. Wise was involved in baseball and softball as a player and coach for many years. He was also a talented golfer who won the 1930 Steilacoom Lake Club Championship. Geehan was the first radio play-by-play voice of Western International League’s Tacoma Tigers baseball team in 1937. Geehan started at his broadcast career at Tacoma-based KVI.
