Description

Hockey referee Joey Johns breaks up a fight during a game in Tacoma. Johns was a former player for the Tacoma Rockets in the 1940s, won a City League Championship with the Tacoma Elks Club and then went on to referee. The Rockets were a professional team that played in Tacoma from 1946 to 1953. Tacoma played in the Pacific Coast Hockey League until becoming a member of the Western Hockey League during the 1952-53 season and relocated to the Tacoma Ice Palace.
