Wearing jersey number 9, Earl Platt (front row) sits with his teammates on the Pacific Lutheran College basketball team. Platt was a three-sport starter at Pacific Lutheran, staring in football, basketball and baseball. Platt, a two-way starter in football, was one of the school's first Little All-Americans, earning the honor in 1940. After World War II, Platt played in the Coast Pro League. Platt was also all-conference in basketball for Pacific Lutheran and played on a Lutes' team that won their first Winco League championship. In baseball, Platt started at first base. He was inducted into Pacific Lutheran's Hall of Fame in 1991.
