Chuck Gilmur, wearing jersey #15, who barely earned a varsity letter while at Seattle’s Lincoln High School in the late 1930s, emerged as a star for coach Hec Edmundson’s Washington Huskies after a growth spurt took him to 6 feet, 4 inches and 225 pounds.
