Description

The Tacoma Mueller Barons were a North American Soccer League team that played in the mid-1970s and 1980s. The Barons were based out of Highline and also played in the Washington State Soccer League first division. The 1977 season saw the Mueller Barons win the State Challenge Cup over Ghirardelli with an 11-round penalty kick tiebreaker at Memorial Stadium in Seattle. Goals by Kelly Gordon and Tim Allen were followed by a winning kick from Ed Tonkin. Photo donated by Norman Ruffner.
