Clyde Werner, a 1966 graduate from Wilson High School, rushes San Francisco 49ers' quarterback Jim Plunkett while playing linebacker for the Kansas City Chiefs. After playing football at the University of Washington, Werner was a second-round draft pick by the Chiefs in the 1970 NFL draft. Werner was with the Kansas City Chiefs six seasons. When Werner was playing linebacker for the Huskies, he had 21 tackles in a game against Washington State, setting a team record for most tackles in the Apple Cup.
