Clover Park High School Warriors 1948 hockey league champions. Clover Park had the distinction of having the first championship team in the newly formed Ice Hockey league. The league was formed in 1948 with teams to be sent from Clover Park, Lincoln, Bellermine and Stadium High Schools. The Warrior squad flashed their way to an unbeaten season marred only by a 2-2 tie with Lincoln, runners-up for the championship. Play took place at the Tacoma Ice Palace. The scores for teh season were Clover Park 6, Staduim 4; Clover Park 10, Bellermine 1; Clover Park 3, Stadium 1; Clover Park 3, Lincoln 2; Clover Park 3, Bellermine 0. Alex Watt of the Tacoma Rockets professionals coached the boys at their regular Thursday night turnouts. Jim "Bink" Mulvey was the main spark fo the Warrior attack and set a record of seven goals in one game, and scoring 22 points for the season.
