Sandwiched between his mom and dad, a 12-year-old David Krussow accepts the first-place award for winning the 1966 National Soap Box Derby. David helped his father build their homemade race car to win the national championship. That same year, there was an episode on the then popular TV show “Bewitched” that was titled “Soapbox Derby.” Samantha, with her special witch powers, helped a kid win the derby.
