David Krussow races across the finish line to place first at the 1966 Tacoma Soap Box Derby.
Krussow went on to win the national championship that year and was the last racer from Washington to win the national championship until 2017 when a driver from Standwood-Camano won it that year, a passage of 51 years. To celebrate the 50 anniversary of his victory, Krussow was there. He also visited the Museum of Champ Cars in Akron, Ohio, where his soap box derby car is still kept.Lexicon
