In what was a popular event, David Krussow stands with other contestants at the starting line of the 1966 Tacoma Soap Box Derby. Krussow holds up the tools he and his dad used in building his soap box derby car that was made out of wood. Krussow won the national championship that year in Akron, Ohio, and received a $7,500 college scholarship.
