Description

After he made NAIA All-American as a running back in 1986 for the University of Puget Sound, Mike Oliphant was picked in the third round of the NFL draft by the Washington Redskins. He was traded to the Cleveland Browns in 1989 and played there for three years, spending all of the 1990 season and 12 games of the 1991 season on the injured reserve. He signed with the Seattle Seahawks in 1992 but was released before the start of the season. Oliphant didn't play high school football but a growth spurt helped him get into the sport.
