Description

The 1974 Lakes High School Lancers won the state baseball championship behind pitcher Mike Wholey with a 2-0 victory over Juanita of Kirkland in the title game at Sick's Stadium in Seattle. The Lancers and pitcher Scott Brunick advanced to the championship game with a 3-0 victory over Central Valley of Spokane in the semifinals. Lakes became the first baseball team in state history to win their semifinal and championship games with a shutout en route to a 23-4 record under coach Ed Hardenbrook.
