Description

Vince Strojan was a rarity for a small school like Saint Martin’s — an elite athlete who ultimately played pro basketball, getting drafted by the Dallas Chaparrals of the American Basketball Association and eventually even getting a look by the fledgling Seattle SuperSonics. His legacy, however, is as a standout at Saint Martin’s and Fife High School. Strojan was an athletic big man who broke the school’s scoring record for 1,736 career points, blowing past the previous record of 1,235 early in his senior season. In that season he scored 600 points and an impressive per game average of more than 26 points, including games of 30 or more points on six occasions and was named NAIA District I All-Star team. He was inducted into the school’s athletic Hall of Fame in 1992.
