Description

Fred Forsberg of Tacoma was a Wilson High graduate who played linebacker for six seasons for the Denver Broncos as well as the Buffalo Bills and the San Diego Chargers in the NFL. Forsberg went on to play at the University of Washington. While at Washington, Forsberg was selected to the East-West Shrine game, Hula and Coaches All-American all-star games. The 6-foot-1, 235-pound defense tackle was drafted by the Victoria Steelers in 1966 in the 14th round (121st pick) of the American Football League before playing for the Broncos from 1968-73. At linebacker, Forsberg started 41 of 69 games and had five interceptions and five fumble recoveries in his career. Forsberg’s career ended in 1974 when he suffered a knee injury while covering a punt. Photo is autographed.
