Washington State University shortstop Duane Rossman runs the bases in 1964.
Rossman, a 1961 graduate of Clover Park High School, was a 10th-round pick (No. 181 overall) in the 1965 amateur draft by the Chicago Cubs.
Rossman hit .470 as a senior at Clover Park, earning MVP honors of the West Central District All-Star game.
A four-year starter for WSU, Rossman played second base his first two seasons in Pullman then switched to shortstop for his final two seasons. Rossman helped the Cougars finish third in the 1965 College World Series his senior season.
He was named an All-Star for the Treasure Valley Cubs (Caldwell, Idaho) of the Pioneer League in 1965. He went on to play for Lodi of the California League and Dallas/Fort Worth of the Texas League, playing in 134 minor league games from 1965-67. He compiled a .220 batting average with 13 home runs and 49 RBIs.Lexicon
