In the popular event, movie and TV stars would often show up, and that year Loren Green, Dan Blocker and Michael Landon from the popular TV series “Bonanza” showed up. In 1966, the popular TV show “Bewitched” had an episode about the soap box derby championship and star actress Samantha helped a boy win the race. The cast from “Bewitched” was at the race Schumacher won. Celebrities were a tradition at the event.
